[Oz-mooney] Rex Pilot shortage

A first for me in more than 30 years of air travel - Left behind by REX.
 
ZL3152 - 0825hr, 6th July Melb to Albury.  I was early and in the long
line. No call made. Told at the desk that the gate was closed. $600 taxi
ride to Albury for an important meeting. 
 
The kicker; answer to my Web complaint by Ms Joy Su - "No Show" forfeits
ticket. "sincerely apologise" 
 
I have advised all our staff to take REX only if absolutely necessary.

- this one has been really grinding away under my skin.

For anybody who as been caught up in this it is an absolute disgrace
.... You get your money back (after a whole lot of hassles) but that
doesn't cover the cost of a last minute ticket at Qantaslink

Interesting story regarding Rex Aviation's shortage of pilots in the
news today. They have had to cancel some services.

Apparently Rex is having problems with pilots being poached by the major
airlines..... I doubt if that is something new. I would think it has
been going on for years.

Is there a problem with pay & conditions also contributing to this
outflow?

Maybe there is still time for me to have a career change......
