Agreed!
You go find a cloud Tony and I'll go find an Instructor!
My En-Route training in March, the weather was so awful that I preferred to
fly in IMC with the hood on. If I couldn't see it, it couldn't scare me!

Congratulations Tony on obtaining your PIFR and Mike for successfully
passing the IREX exam.
Regards,
Paul Baishont
PS Interestingly while looking through the minutes of a safety meeting at
work today I see that a submission has gone to CASA to have Private IFR
flights notify their PIFR status when submitting a flight plan.

Congratulations to Tony and Michael.
There is no time limit on the IREX exam, which seems odd: I have a friend
who did it 18 years ago and he now hopes to get his CIR.

Thanks Michael. As it stands I think I will do the Tait course when the
time comes.
I will file this letter - with the PPL I did 9 trial exams ( !!!) 3 Dyson
which were by far the hardest ( bordering on punitive), 3 ATC exams which
were about equal with the final exam, and then finished up with 3 -4 Bob
Tait Cyber exams which were a good brush up of the computer format. About
70% of the exam questions were in the trail exams so they were very helpful.
The range of marks I got in the trials very accurately represented my final
mark .

Thankyou. You need to use the 2 trial exams from Aviation Theory Centre
Melbourne. I am sure they write some of the questions as very similar ones
to their trial exams come up in both IREX and PPL. Also the PPL and IREX
exam questions on the CASA site still come up.or at least some of them. I
think the best text is Bob tait from Brisbane. Do all the questions in his
book and the 4 online exams. Then when you do the exam you will realise how
bitter and twisted some people at CASA are when you see the questions THEY
ask :-). Not that I am paranoid. I KNEW they were out to get me.

Funny you should ask Mark. I got my IREX yesterday :-). As far as I know the
only exam which is time limited are the ATPL's. You have to get them all
within 3 years. Not sure about CPL's. I don't think there is any limit with
IREX though

Does anyone know the length of time the Irex remains current before
attempting the CIR test?
