Hi Russell,
Nice one mate!
Wel,there you go! they also called me Mad Dog when I lived & worked in Yarrawonga/Finley pharmacies!.
If anyone ever goes to that great Island,The Mulberry Tree is now fenced off & its long boughs propped up by steel posts. It is a kilometre or so from town of Kingscote near the point he landed. In 1986 I was invited to join the week long ceremony of the Centenary. For this I had to don Captains clothing/cap of the era hired in Adelaide & be carried ashore after leaving "a ship in a lifeboat. My pharmacy mates used to take a 10 day break from work in previous years & tow boats from Melbourne to a special property "Snug Cove"
on the protected North coast & catch mega quantities of reef fish, cull the property for Wallaby,Roo & Wild goats.(The wild pig was left for the owner). Also caught numerous crays. This fairly expensive trip was only undertaken every 2 yrs,but the camping & camerarderie will stay with me for ever.
Additionally,my Mother was a decendent of Surgeon Harris to the Second Fleet .He started the first farm in NSW & his house "Ultimo" still stands in the suburb of the same name in Sydney.
I guess I really am a Dinky Die Ozzi" but not as famous as "Ned"!!
Catch you later

And all this time I thought you were related to Dan Morgan, the bushranger !!

Hi folks,
KI sure is a fantastic place,& my ancestor Captain Robert Clark Morgan brought the first boatload os settlers to SA in 1836 .I still have his Diary QUADRANT (!) & suitably inscribed Telescope given him by the London Missionary Society for this particular trip ( 6 Mths). He brought out a Mulberry Tree which he planted & STILL bears fruit!!

Folks,
Im afraid that we had only three takers for the Kangaroo Island flyon (and one taker for the Murray River cruise) so I wont be running either of these as flyon options. I have attached the price list for the Kangaroo Island accommodation and tours to those who indicated interest (Lowreys, Manzies and Chris Wrightson) and Id encourage them to arrange it direct with KItours if they would like to visit. It is a great place.
Regards
John Hillard

Subject: KI Flyin April 2008
Jim,
As discussed, I am organising a flyin that for the Australian Mooney Pilots Association that will bring owners of this type of aircraft to South Australia in late April 2008. I am arranging a number of 2-3 day options at various tourist venues and am planning on groups of 10-15 people (say 6-8 rooms). I will confirm numbers and pay deposits in February 2008.
The aircraft would arrive at around 1300 on Tuesday 29 April at Kingscote Airport and depart on about 1500 on Friday 2 May.
I would be grateful if you could ask the company that you work with to propose an itinerary for this period and provide an all-inclusive quote (twin share and single bases) for :
dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation (3 nights),
any included tours
transfers to and from Kingscote Airport
This will be a middle aged and older group. I would suggest that you plan on tours for the two days and assume that people will amuse themselves for the rest. Could you please reply to me at johnhillard at westnet.com.au Please call me on 08 8364 5273 if you require any further details.
Regards
John Hillard
